So despite the fact that the Morrisey plotline was easy to work out (though I give them props for having Ten figure it out before the 20 minute mark, because seriously, I had it at like ten) and the cybershades are basically mops with metal masks and Optimus Prime tried to destroy London, I enjoyed it. If you think about it, it's not really much more cracktastic than Voyage of the Damned was. The Jackson/Doctor dynamic was fun and Rosita punching out red dress lady was A+, even if it was pretty much the only thing of notice that Rosita did.
I also think it might be the second least angsty Christmas special thus far, which is rare. WHAT? A CHRISTMAS DINNER? SRSLY? NO HANDBRAKES? REAL SNOW THAT IS NOT THE ASH OF SOME CORPSE OR OTHER SIGN OF DESTRUCTION? WHAT? Of course it was tempered by some nice use of x-treme Doctor Who-style angst and the implication that the Doctor has nothing to live for, but still, turkey's basically the happiest we've had since Christmas Invasion, so I'll take what I can get.
Um, I've got nothin' else, really. IT AMUSED ME, that's all I ask.
To the less geeky of my flist, MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Date: 2008-12-26 12:02 pm (UTC)but yeah I agree it was cute and aside from the U GOTS NO REASON 2 LIV BB? stuff and the signature Tennant!stares-into-the-distance as he contemplates his shitty life, it was very aw. OKAY YOU CONVINCED ME, LET'S GO EAT SOME TURKEY =D
But I totally aw'd when they were talking about his lack of companions and he was saying how they leave or forget and in the end they break his heart D=
BUT WHICH ONE? OR BOTH?no subject
Date: 2008-12-26 04:55 pm (UTC)lol Rosita yeah, she was like... the almagamated companion. She didn't really do a lot, probably beause she wasn't the focus of the episode, but she punched that chick in the red dress so I approve.
I definitely awwed too. I am a sucker for all their excessive excessive angst.
AND I TOTALLY CONTEMPLATED HIS SEMANTIC INACCURACY THERE AS WELL. LIRL.
