Date: 2008-09-10 11:41 pm (UTC)... I'm just a bit sad that it's likely she will, you know, die.
And Catherine Zeta Jones... Well, it would be too much to hope for some hot-romance, isn't it? (also, it kinda breaks my heart thinking about the doctor with someone other than Rose)

Date: 2008-09-11 02:28 am (UTC)Hahaha I cannot see Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role at ALL. And ...I do think they're hoping too much if you want hot romance, lol. (I'm inclined to agree, but on the other hand I don't want him just pining for the rest of his zillion-year lifespan, so... whatever. I'd be cool with no love plotline, though, I quite liked the BFFness in series 4.)

Date: 2008-09-11 02:39 am (UTC)We could just have a spin-off with Rose/Other Doctor/Donna-who-won't-die-so-easily and be happy. Except that... Well, Tennant can't be at two different places at once.
I also can't see her in that role, and I know it's a far-away dream, but it would look omg-so-hot! (Well, yes, it would be too much if he kept on pining over her for 200 years, still, that doesn't mean I wouldn't find it weird, seeing him falling for someone else)

Date: 2008-09-11 02:47 am (UTC)I so want one of the specials to be Rose and other!Doctor even though y'know, it won't be, lirl. EPIC. Or somewhere down the line in the series, with Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen and Companion At The Time, Rose and human!Doctor come in to lend a hadn
and totally kick ass, that'd be awesome.I'll find it weird too but given Moffat's penchant for it I wouldn't be surprised. As long as River Song doesn't return and be annoying as shit I'm fine. lirl.

Date: 2008-09-11 03:00 am (UTC)Yes! I would love to see it, even if I know it won't happen. Or the "other" doctor could "ship" his Donna as an exchange guft! *laughs* "You gave me the woman we love, I give you our best friend".
I do hope River becomes someone... More attractive as a companion. But, well, Donna wasn't the best option I could think of after seeing The Runaway Bride and she turned out to be fine. Also, probably River is really bitter about being left behind and all that (Sarah sounded very bitter in School Reunion).
If I had to pick someone for companion... I have to say I'd vote for Sally Sparrow. And Sally Sparrow without romance, also. I just -adore- her.

Date: 2008-09-11 03:21 am (UTC)LIRL YES. "Here, have alt!Donna, now with 50% fewere brain implosions." Except I think alt!Donna might have some things to say about that.
The thing is it doesn't sound like River ever was a proper companion. The Doctor just shows up at her house and they plan to meet places, apparently, so it's possible he does the Martha "one trip" (and by one he means a billion) thing but that she doesn't actually stay on the TARDIS the same way Martha/Rose/Donna do. I mean she's still doing her JOB so... yeah, I dunno. The fucked-up layer of Doctor/River is another matter entirely.
SALLY SPARROW YES. SHE WOULD BE AWESOME. I don't mind seeing Jenny again, but I don't know if I want her as a fulltime companion.

Date: 2008-09-12 04:03 pm (UTC)But, of course, there are millions of ways that it could happen, and I'm glad to have her back.
Donna always has something to say about those things. I can picture her reaction very clearly -- it wouldn't be very different from what happened in the end of "Doomsday"/"The runaway bride" (I just saw Doomsday again... I love that Donna shows up in the end of the episode. It helps when you're trying to stop crying).
Well, maybe it is like that, maybe it isn't. Maybe she was a regular human and everything and just became an archeologist after being stuff in the 51st century, all by herself. And when you came from a few centuries earlier, being an archeologist isn't that hard.
I would love to have Jenny poping-up now and then, it would be fun. Also, she needs her own TARDIS piece so she can have her own TARDIS. (I should mention... She doesn't change her face once she regenarates, maybe it's a side-effect of her not being, exactly, a proper time-lord? Still, somewhere in the old series they mentioned that time-lords didn't born from mating...Well, yeah, whatever.)
