You guys are probably like "wtf Kali stfu with these letter projects" but um sry [livejournal.com profile] letter_project is amazing because Dorea/Charlus is amazing and so is [livejournal.com profile] latine, and I have to pimp this one because [livejournal.com profile] piratesmile_x is doing all of the actual work, you know, hosting it and such.

Title: A Standing Inferiority Complex
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] _thirty2flavors (Victoire) and [livejournal.com profile] piratesmile_x (Teddy)
Characters/Pairings: Victoire/Teddy, plus mention of .... everyone, ever.
Rating: Eh, PG-13 so far.
Summary: In which Teddy Lupin and Victoire Weasley maneuver their way through N.E.W.T.s, ill-advised memory charms, anecdotes, and some truly atrocious French.
Excerpt: I half-expected to get to Hogwarts and have life suddenly turn into some dramatic affair full of dragons and chase scenes and heroic rescues. Maman didn't even go to Hogwarts and she was still a Triwizard Champion. It's not right. The Weasley-Potter clan is one full of inferiority complexes.

In other news, I've already written about 2 and a half pages of my [livejournal.com profile] redandthewolf Slings and Arrows challenge. Just need to finish. It is kind of just pointless fluff but... ...oh well. I have to ease myself back into the pairing, I guess, lirl.

I've also got this half-compiled fan-mix sitting here that I guess I might as well finish compiling. By that I mean all the files are on my old dinosaur of a computer and unless I want to sift through my iPod to get them off, I'll have to turn on that thing. It is Lily/James because they are hotties :| Also, this is the first fan-mix I've ever considered doing, and it is a weird experience. I feel like every day I get progressively dorkier.

I do need to work more on Silly Love Songs. Why is it that I can only write when there are looming deadlines? As soon as I finish my work and I think "oh, now I can work on ___", I suddenly lose all desire to work on ___.

Also, hey to all the kids I've added through that giant friending meme! Lol, friend memes are always so pathetic because no one ever replies to be my friend, I have to force them all into it. BAHAHAH.

Shit son, check out the tags on this entry. lirl

ETA -- LIRL! I noticed this a long time ago and for some reason it just occured to me to mention it here. A while ago I was searching Facebook for the UR group that I am too ashamed to join, lest kids from school realize what a loser I truly am and I found the group Comprehensive List of The Best Harry Potter Fanfiction, which apparently includes some stuff by me, First Draft by [livejournal.com profile] koonelli and A Keen Observer by [livejournal.com profile] callmepatsy.

*snicker*

Aww, I love letters comms things. I've never followed one or done one (except I'm sort of planning out one with someone right now) but I look forward to following the Victoire/Teddy one! This letter is so cute. :D

I am, um, kind of addicted, or something. I've only got two posted (the one above and [livejournal.com profile] letter_project) but I was in two that were never posted anywhere and... yeah. Great tools of procrastination and wonder!

Hee, thanks. =)

Writing Victoire is giving me the chance to actually put thought into the nextgen!kids, which is kind of something I never intended to do, but nevertheless it became pretty obvious to me within one or two letters that she has a gigantic inferiority complex that no amount of Veela genes can combat, lol. It.. actually makes me kind of interested? GASP SHOCK HORROR The H/G and R/Hr kids still suck though.

To be honest, all of the next gen kids have potential for me, but I see what you mean. TEDDY AND VICTOIRE ARE TTLY THE MOST INTERESTING.

But I love Scorpius/Rose and ickle Albus Severus has potential issues man.

Congrats on the Facebook shoutout --- you appear to be the most prolific author on that group as well (huzzah to you!). Very well-deserved.

I love that you're finding inspiration in new and interesting ways. I think it's absolutely fantastic.

I actually found myself bored enough yesterday to go back and read DH reviews from July --- I may just tug out canon in the next few months to revisit. There are a couple books higher on the list, but HP has always had a special place for me.

I find that facebook group hilarious more than anything, particularly because I found it whilst searching for UR's group.

It would be nice, I think, if some of that inspiration would manifest itself in the from of original fiction for once -- but then I haven't written that in several years and something is better than nothing, I guess. Plus it is a sad but true fact that fanfiction has totally contributed to any amount of writing talent I might have now, lol.

I agree. I don't think HP is neccessarily the best work of literature ever written and I think anyone who says it is ... probably ought to read more, but I think I'll always adore it, even if when I am 80 they've become 2070's equivalent of The Hardy Boys and my hypothetical grandkids cannot fathom why on earth I would ever, ever have waited in line at midnight to get a copy of the 7th one. I haven't reread any of them since I did my Massive Harry Potter Re-Read up to and including DH, but I'm pretty certain the spines are going to be well worn in a few years' time.

I feel you on the double life, yo. While those nearest and dearest to me all know I read fanfiction, I would rather die than tell them I have written any. I don't know why.

And mad props on the facebook shout-out. You're, like, the most famous person I know. :D

Although the list isn't really "comprehensive," considering every fic listed is from the Marauder era.

Date: 2008-02-07 04:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] emerald-caprice.livejournal.com
Okay, I totally lied. I just noticed that not all of them are Marauder era, just a lot of them.

NEWSFLASH: I hate that now when you're writing a comment on lj if you leave the page accidentally and hit 'back', the comment is gone. D:

Anyway, yeah, though I have one friend who knows I read/write fanfiction because she also reads it, we're both incredibly secretive and I do my best to prevent others from figuring it out, lol. I AM SO ASHAMED D:

And yeah, it's really not very comprehensive... lirl. It just makes me laugh that some Hopkins alumni is reading my fanfiction and reccing it on facebook wtf. ....MAYBE HE'S READING THIS RIGHT NOW :O

wtf Kali stfu with these letter projects

Whatever, even though I lurk your writings for the most part, I have to say that I'm totally in love with Dorea/Charlus because of your guys project and I'm excited to see this one only because a lot of people keep botching new pairings instead of making me want to read them but you've never done that so :D

I'm just glad you're writing, even if it isn't SLS.

So I kinda sorta blame you for writing the cutest fic in letter form that I've probably ever read. I know, hyperbolic strangers should not be trusted, but there you have it.

I must find more Teddy/Victoire! Thanks for the great read. :)

Hee! Aww, thanks (though I must give half the credit to [livejournal.com profile] piratesmile_x, who writes Teddy's letters). Teddy/Victoire is basically made for fluff, I think, lol.

They've got an lj comm! [livejournal.com profile] teddy_victoire
