OMFG!
OMFG I AM DONE.
WHAT I am done Harry Potter, this is incredibly bizarre.
DUDE, WHAT A BLOODBATH. What the hell is the body count at? Hedwig, Mad-Eye, Fred, Tonks, Lupin, COLIN CREEVEY, Crabbe, Snape? MAN ... was my wish for mass-death ever granted. LIRL
Holy wtf @ Remus' entire plotline. I expected basically none of that except perhaps a little more affection with regards to Tonks..? MARRYING HER AND HAVING A METAMORPHAMAGUS ORPHAN BABY = totally not what I expected. I'm sort of sad he died, but only sort of sad, because, you know, this way he can frolic in the afterlife with James and Lily and Sirius (and Tonks, I guess - can you tell how halfassedly I am dedicated to this ship?) whereas on earth everything seemed to blow.
Um I thought the writing on the snitch was totally obvious, wtf Hermione, you should've been able to figure that one out. And as soon as the Ressurection Stone was mentioned I was instantly like "HELL YES LILY AND JAMES AND SIRIUS ARE TOTALLY APPEARING". *dies* I am really way too taken by the Marauder-era cast to focus on much else.
UMMMMMMMMMM I don't know what else to say, I'm incoherent. Time to go... I don't know.... write some immediate post-DH fanfiction, I think. LIRL.

Date: 2007-07-22 09:12 pm (UTC)Did you think the epilogue sucked, though? I definitely did -- I wish she ended it right before.

Date: 2007-07-23 06:15 pm (UTC)That was my favorite part of DH. Harry finally did what I've wanted him to do forever. Learn about his parents. I mean, if I were at 12GP, I'd be making a beeline for Sirius's old room and learning everything I could. I'd also have tried to get into the cottage at GH, and see the inside. Walk around in the rubble a bit.
And James, Sirius, Remus, and Lily returning? AMAZING.
(I also never thought R/T would end in marriage, a baby, and both dead. I assumed it would be unrequited and he would die and she would be alone and mournful. But, that's just me).
Sorry for the uber-comment, but that's me...I don't know when to shut up!

Date: 2007-07-23 06:51 pm (UTC)I wanted him to go into the cottage too. Damnit, Harry! However I was so excited by the night-they-died snippet, even if it did make me roll my eyes at them (come on, Lily, James, NO WANDS?) and James' death was much quicker and plainer than I had anticipated.
I also find it odd that Harry never even saw Sirius' room before? I mean, what else was he doing when he was sulking that summer? Looking at the house-elf heads on the walls?
Yeah I know. I would've thought Dumbledore'd be there, too, but I quite liked having it be the four of them. It was so awww-y.
I know! I was like WTF at the first mention of their marriage; I wasn't surprised when Remus was all "it was against my beter judgement and I regret it" because I remember thinking, "wtf, why would he do it in the first place?" Then they had a baby and both died and I was like MAN I have been wrong about this ship since the very start.
Oh, no problem. =)

Date: 2007-07-28 12:49 am (UTC)in book 7, we read that james and lily didn't have wands.
in book 1, we get a different account:
“How touching...” it hissed. “I always value bravery...Yes, boy, your parents were brave...I killed your father first, and he put up a courageous fight...but your mother needn’t have died...she was trying to protect you...Now give me the Stone, unless you want her to have died in vain.”
– Voldemort to Harry (SS, pg. 365, American edition)
where's the courageous fight? i'm thinking that originally, LV did duel with james. however, when it came to writing it in Deathly Hallows, it simply wasn't necessary for LV to narrarate this long, drawn-out battle... so it was probably cut and changed to save time. because LV isn't the type to pay false compliments... because what was described in book 7 was definitely not a courageous fight.
so anyway, i am choosing to believe book 1, i like the image of brave james fighting LV than just collapsing due to lack of wand. lol

Date: 2007-07-24 11:33 am (UTC)Remus' plotline was kind of bizarre-- just not enough time to devote much detail into it, I guess. When Harry freaked out at him at Grimmauld Place, I was like "wtf, Harry, now he's going to die because you yelled at him." Then you see him again and he's a happy family man, then you see him again and he's dead.
Also, Wormtail died in, like, a millisecond, but I'm really not bothered much by that.
But I am just rambling right now, this book was all kinds of awesome and I am deliriously happy with it.
