Mmm yeah Moffat's tendency to disregard companions or render them useless really irks me, too, and I'm hoping that once it's his own special snowflake companion he won't feel the need to randomly throw in ~super special~ characters to steal the Doctor's affection.
Yeah it definitely doesn't make sense for him to fall that hard, that quickly for some fabulous creature (since he's met thousands of that type before and technically he is one himself) without there being something more to it than her just being ZOMGAWESOME!!1eleventyoneone!
Exactly! I mean I can buy that he liked her and obviously he's not going to be super psyched about her death but I can't buy that it was some OMG LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT epic tale in which he promptly forgot about his season-long love for Rose or whatever it was I was supposed to think about Doctor/Reinette.
I feel like we'll just go in circles if we keep going "I AGREE" "ME TOO", but yeah, exatly -- Ten2 is far more well-equipped to have an actual legitimate relationship, and now Ten can convince himself that Rose will be happy with a little less lying-to-himself than previously required, lol.
