What a marvelous little episode! I am quite fascinated by the relationship between Snape and Regulus, if only because I think there was one, and that the demise of Black the Younger might be one of the reasons that Snape so despises Black the Elder...
But I like this...the commenting on acting, particularly where you mention that no one ever quits while they're on top. I suppose, when it comes to Death Eaters, there's no way to bow out gratefully.
