Yeah I'm 18 in literally a month - the 29th of December -- so it's not a *big* deal, but it reminds me of how back in the day I always used to lie about being 13 in order to sign up for websites, lol. And I just tweaked my age so now I'm apparently turning 19 in a month, but still. It sort of irks me that I had to do even that.
Ratings are screwed up. I don't understand. They're different across every country and the FF.net ones are retarded. Plus what some people consider "harsh language" might not be what I consider harsh language. *shrug*
And technically yeah, I'm above age of consent too - it's like 14 or something here, lol. Good old Canada. While I understand it's because LJ is presumably an American site, it annoys me that they impose the American sense of "what is appropriate".
I recently watched the British version of The Office online, and it astounds me the sort of things they can say on TV that we in North America can't. It also irritates me. I don't get what North America's problem with sex is. We can show TV shows like CSI on prime time that have bloody corpses and brutal, messed up murders, but we can't say "vagina"? Wtf?
