Man, that deleted scene just reminds me of how much I miss Silly Love Songs. That story really does have great potential; I hope you don't end up abandoning it completely. You really are a great writer, and what impresses me most is that you're not just a great writer for your age-- you're a great writer in general. I used the word "great" way too many times in this comment. I'm out.
