'it's complicated' with river song

Since we all know Facebook is the key to unambiguifying interpersonal relationships...

[Poll #1374442]

Inspired, as always, by a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] bazcat89.

I have an interview with Health Canada tomorrow and I am ill. Somehow this seems foreboding.

Funnily enough, GITF is what prompted this discussion. I was saying with [livejournal.com profile] bazcat89 how I don't really buy into all the fics where Rose throws a bitchfit after it, for a whole slew of reasons but one of them being that (to quote my MSN conversation with Liz)

"[livejournal.com profile] _thirty2flavors: i think it comes from the delusion people have that theyw ere in a legit facebook relationship during s2
[livejournal.com profile] _thirty2flavors: when they totally weren't
[livejournal.com profile] _thirty2flavors: in facebook terms they were still in the stage of poking each other
[livejournal.com profile] bazcat89: they would have poke wars
[livejournal.com profile] bazcat89: and then leave obnoxious comments like I AM NOT GOING TO LOSE THIS POKE WAR"

Haha! You have a point. I don't think Rose'd throw a fit... she'd be more confused than anything. Because she was all jealous of Sarah Jane but she was all fine with Reinette... what does your personal canon say about that? *is curious*

I think it'd be complicated for Rose because of Mickey though. She looked so upset when Mickey joined them in ep 3 but Mickey was so excited. I wonder what Mickey's relationship status would be at that point...

I'm actually writing a fic right now that daels a bit with post-GITF Rose and might delve into that a little. I think the real answer is a mix of the fact that a) meeting Sarah Jane forced her to sort of come to terms with being 'the latest in a long line', b) she didn't actually SEE him do anything wth Reinette and c) Moffat is not fantastic at character continuity.

I WONDER THAT TOO LOL. In Father's Day she implies they're broken up, but I have to wonder if it was one of those things where she clearly sees the relationship as over and he not-so-clearly... doesn't.

HOW DO YOU TELL SOMEONE THAT IT'S OVER? YOU SEND A NOTARIZED LETTER. BUT WHAT IF THE RECIPIENT IS YOUR NOTARY?
