fic exchange rec & a fandom meme

I still lack updates of any kind, though I did finish my fic for UR.org's Christmas fic exchange. Naturally it's still i posting and secrecy mode so I cannot link you to any fic of mine that may or may not be posted yet, but that's where I've been. Well, that and exams. I also have one tomorrow. I should study, yes? But it's philosophy and philosophy is stupid because a) even when you know it, you don't do really well and b) even when you don't know it you don't do really poorly. Or, well, that's been my experience, anyway. Huzzah for circular definitions and post hoc fallacy and blah blah...

Yeah, I'm enthused.

Also! The fic someone wrote for me was posted, so it is my duty to rec it here. Yay.

Title: The Final Stage
Rating: PG-13
Summary: 12 Grimmauld Place is nobody's idea of the perfect place for a party. Yet that is where Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Nymphadora Tonks find themselves spending the fourteenth anniversary of Voldemort's defeat. Overwhelmed by memories of that Halloween night, the three just want to drink brandy and forget.

It is basically exactly what I was going for, which is impressive since I am apparently incapable of writing a half-decent prompt. Yay, mystery author! (Yeah, no, I actually don't know who it was. Mysterrryyy. *waves fingers spookily*)

As another means of procrastination, here's a random meme! Yay! I don't know. Um, go wild. (Give me other ways to procrastinate!)

Pick a fictional character from a fandom I know and I'll answer the following questions to the best of my abilities.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Okay baby. Give me some...

Damn, I have to pick one! Argh. Let's go with obscure (canon obscure, not fanon obscure)... Andromeda!

Yeah I'm afraid Sharon wins the Obscure Prize with Pocahontas. *dies*

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you
dislike the character.

Andromeda's all right. I love all the Blacks, so she counts, but I would've liked to see her do more in canon than just be concerned about her daughter for 2.5 seconds and then lose everyone she cares about ever. LIRL She was colder than I had previously anticipated, or at least seemed like it, but it was Black-y and so whatevs.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Not really at all. Sry Andromeda.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

I cannot relate to her too well because I'm not having an illicit relationship that my family won't approve of nor have I lost, like, everyone I've ever cared about ever. ...Thankfully. I guess in theory she's pretty emotionally gripping, but in canon not really because we don't see her reaction to any of the shit that happens.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

FTW. Though I only deal with UR.org and thereby avoid all the crazies.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

Andromeda/Ted, man, I am a total canon whore. But the Sirius-Andromeda dynamic interests me too. Well, the entire Black family dynamic interests me, so that includes Andromeda and her sisters, too. Particularly post-war with Naricssa. Though I am stubbornly sure they wouldn't become BFF after.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?

She could've.. done more... and been less... boring... in canon. I know she was worried about her daughter, blah blah, but it was boring, dude! lirl. I thought she was going to be more of a maternal antithesis of a Black but then she ... wasn't.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)

I doubt we'd be friends or even be the slightest bit concerned with each other. She seems all... reserved and wealthy and whatevs (as a kid, anyway) and I'd be like, rolling in my own filth, so yeah, no.

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?

Nope. Sry. She's okay but I'm not a huge fan or anything.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?

No. She does basically nothing in canon. I might point out my unending love for the Blacks and by extension Andromeda, though.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Errr, not really, but she has her niche.
