So um. What's with the magical "you are about to view content that may only be suitable for adults -- oh you're not 18 stfu!" thing that has suddenly appeared in my flist? How's lj working this one? Is it something you do or just something they've implemented, er, somehow?

I am unusually irritated, considering it's not even like I actively seek out adult content, really. I mean, whatever, I'm 18 in a month and I can just change my age on LJ, but still, hey, fuck off, livejournal.

penknife has a good breakdown of what's going on with this, why it's happening, and who it affects:

It's everywhere! I don't like it... *grrrr*

I didn't know about this, but that's probably because I'm too old to be cut out from the "adult content"...

Anyway, It's just funny to think most of all the pron written in LJ belong to underaged writers who won't be able to read pron from other underaged people after this anymore. Do mods in LJ even know this? *lol*

Unfortunately this is all some older people's fault, older people who's head is in the gutter and can't cope with the fact fantasy is just fantasy and I think we'll just have to deal with it. :(

I sincerely apologize for all the dirty minded adults making your LJ experience unpleasant, even if I'm not one of them.

Hold on, wait...is THAT why the little red flags have suddenly appeared near the comments icons? So other people can flag content that shouldn't be viewed by young eyes?-- weird.
