Oh, he was definitely looking to Rose for emotional back-up; I tried to hint at that with his eagerness to go fetch Rose, but through the lens of Donna it might not have translated. The issues surrounding the Ten/Rose/Ten2 situation are ones I've only sort-of touched on in this universe, and I definitely wantd to suggest that as much as the two of them are happy with each other and how things turned out, there's still a bit of awkwardness there, with this Doctor still insecure and Rose still a little bitter over having that choice taken out of her hands.
That said, Rose is still going to jump to his defense if things get personal. As for the Doctor, initially I debated having him put a stop to the Rose/Donna argument earlier, for that exact reason -- no one gets to insult Rose Tyler, regardless of the truth behind those insults -- but I figured there was no way Donna would stand for that, and as I intended to have her actually... y'know.. forgive them, I had to let the argument progress a little, lol.
Thank you! I'm not positive if I'll revisit this universe again, but chances are probably pretty good since it gives me a chance to write both DoctorDonna and Ten/Rose interaction all in one place, haha.
